Masthead – There is only a relatively small title saying contents featured here, this is probably because a big title isn't needed as it was on the front cover and it is quite obvious that this is the contents page giving them more space to write things on. It does stand out on the page though, due to it being bolder and more prominent on the page.
Colour – The colour of the magazine is a classic black and white with black writing on a white background, this makes the writing easy to read and also makes the images clear on the page. This colour scheme won’t directly appeal to the target audience because it is more of a classic scheme which has been used quite a lot and is usually changed depending on the band featured. And also the red colouring helps to bring out the adverts on the page.
Typography – The style of writing used would be appealing to the target audience because the style of writing is that of the target audience and is not overly sophisticated making it suitable for the target audience to read. Also there is not a lot of writing featured but mainly images instead and a lot of one line titles above them, this could be a common convention of this magazine to use images and headings instead of just using writing alone.
Imagery – The images used are clear and well presented and the colour scheme matches with the picture which makes the magazine look good, this would appeal to the target audience because the images featured are all of bands in the rock genre which would make it appealing to the target audience. It also features a variety of pictures of various different rock bands, some of which are quite well known which could also be an appealing factor to the target audience.
Layout - It follows the common conventions of music magazines by featuring one main image of a band and also many other smaller images, with little quantities of text and a few quotes, this follows the common conventions through it's use of text and imagery.
